Domaine Champagne Mondet Père et Fils :
Family heritage and organic viticulture in Champagne
Our family estate has been handed down from father to son for several generations. Today, it is with our son Benoît that we continue to develop it.
In the beginning, our farm had very few resources, and we worked the vines by hand, sometimes with the help of a horse to work the soil. Our first plots of vines were planted at a place called ‘La Goutte d'Or’, and in 1953 our grandfather and great-grandfather Georges built the shed to help him with his work.
A major turning point came in the 1970s with the expansion of our vineyard and the arrival of our first high-clearance tractor, which made vineyard maintenance much easier.
In the 1980s, we began to market our first bottles of champagne and subsequently set up our 2000 kg pressing centre and its premises.

In 2006, as our premises had become too small, we built a new production site with the installation of a 4,000 kg hydraulic press, a new vathouse and a new grape-picking room to accommodate our grape-pickers.

Climate change is pushing us even harder in 2019 to go organic. Of course, we were already HVE and VDC certified, but our commitment to nature was still not enough for us.
In 2022, we proudly obtained organic certification for our entire vineyard, and in July 2024 we will be selling our certified organic champagnes under our new Mondet Père et Fils brand (with Florent and Benoît).
To be in harmony with Nature, the Earth and Water, to protect them, to respect them so that our future generations can still contemplate them and cultivate the plots of vines, and so that they do not become sterile.
